How to plant cosmos and what are the planting time and methods

Cosmos planting time

The cultivation season of Cosmos must be determined according to the local climate and environment. In the northern region, it is mostly cultivated in spring and autumn. In the southern region, it is like spring all year round and can be planted in all seasons.

How to grow cosmos

1. Light: Cosmos likes sunlight and is not very demanding on soil. If the cosmos is transplanted into the soil and the light is not strong, the plant will easily grow too tall.

2. Watering: Cosmos likes water. Water it 2 to 3 times a day when the temperature is high, and once every 1 to 2 days on normal days. However, water accumulation in the pot must be avoided.

How to plant the cosmos I just bought

1. Cosmos can be sown directly in the open air. Choose a suitable area, level the land, sprinkle the cosmos seeds directly on the soil, and cover the seeds with a thin layer of sand.

2. After sowing cosmos, water it thoroughly once, then water it every day to keep the soil moist. It usually germinates in about 5 to 7 days. It needs sufficient light, both full sun and semi-shade. It usually blooms in about 8 to 10 weeks after sowing.

How to grow cosmos quickly

1. When planting cosmos, you need to prepare fertile soil, mix it with coarse-grained sand and garden soil with strong air permeability. It is best to sprinkle organic fertilizer on the bottom of the pot before planting.

2. When planting cosmos, it needs to be maintained in a place with good light. It is best to let the cosmos receive sufficient light. The more sufficient the light, the more flowers will bloom.

3. Cosmos likes moisture, so it needs to be watered more often. After the surface soil is dry, it needs to be watered immediately to make the soil slightly moist so that the plant can grow vigorously.

Precautions for the cultivation of cosmos in pots

1. Fertilization: If base fertilizer is applied to potted cosmos before fertilization, then no fertilizer is needed during the growing period. If there is too much fertilizer in the soil, the branches and leaves will easily grow excessively and there will be few flowers.

2. Prevent lodging: Cosmos is tall and easily sways and breaks in the wind, so it is best to grow it in a windproof place.
