How to plant hibiscus flowers? Planting time and method

Hibiscus planting time

Hibiscus can generally be planted in March or April every spring, because the climatic conditions during this period are suitable, with plenty of sunshine and very warm weather, which is conducive to its germination.

How to plant hibiscus

Reproduction : Hibiscus can be propagated by two methods: cuttings and sowing. Cuttings are the main method. After the buds have grown for 1 to 2 years, they can be directly dug out and transplanted with some roots. This way they are easier to survive.

Planting : Hibiscus is not very demanding on soil and can adapt to a variety of soils. It can generally be planted in vacant land in front of or behind houses, on hillsides, and in wasteland corners.

Fertilizer and water management : After planting hibiscus, if it is dry, you can water it appropriately. During the growing season, you can apply some thin liquid fertilizer. In addition, you should prune it slightly every year to ensure ventilation and light.

How to plant the hibiscus flowers you just bought

It is recommended that you do not change the soil for the newly purchased hibiscus, because the plant is still in the acclimatization period and is relatively fragile. If you want to change the soil, you have to wait until the acclimatization period is over.

The newly bought hibiscus has not yet adapted to the environment, so don't put it in a place with particularly strong light. Keep the temperature around it between 20-25℃, and don't rush to fertilize the hibiscus.

How to grow hibiscus quickly

If you want the hibiscus to grow fast, you need to give the plant plenty of light, because it prefers sunlight. The temperature needs to be maintained between 18-25 degrees. The amount of watering should also be controlled. It is better to be less rather than more. The soil just needs to be slightly moist during the growing season.

Matters Needing Attention in Potted Planting of Hibiscus

Pests : If the environment provided during the maintenance of hibiscus potted plants is not suitable, the plants are prone to pests. Common pests include red spider mites, fall moths, etc. Once discovered, they need to be sprayed with pesticides as soon as possible to treat them.

Diseases : Hibiscus is also susceptible to diseases, such as brown spot and leaf blight. Once discovered, spray Bordeaux liquid and remove or burn the diseased leaves. As long as it is treated in time, it can be cured.
