Can canna be planted in pots?

Canna can be planted in pots, and can also be grown in flower pots. Canna cannot withstand the overly intense sunlight in summer, so it must be moved away in time to avoid burns, but it cannot be moved away if planted in the ground, so potted planting is more suitable.

When planting canna, you need a flowerpot with a diameter of about 30 cm. Climbing roses require a larger flowerpot of 40 cm. When using a flowerpot, it is best to use a clay pot. Canna potted plants can bloom and bear fruit.

Canna potted cultivation method

1. Soil preparation

Canna likes water and fertilizer, so when choosing soil, you can choose fertile black soil with good water storage capacity, and on this basis add mixed nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers, and then put some perlite or pebbles in the soil.

2. Pruning

Canna has large leaves and no tangled branches, so when pruning, you only need to cut off the old leaves that have dried and turned yellow. Excessive pruning will reduce the plant's photosynthetic capacity and even endanger the plant's life.

3. Watering

When watering cannas, be sure to water them thoroughly at one time, but do not let water accumulate in the soil of the flowerpot. Watering in this way can maximize the even moisture retention of the soil and prevent the plant from not getting enough water.

4. Fertilization

Canna is still in great need of fertilizer. In summer and spring, top dressing can be done every ten days or so. Only canna with sufficient water and fertilizer can grow vigorously and bloom pleasing flowers.

5. Lighting

When the canna is exposed to too strong sunlight in the summer, it needs to be moved indoors to avoid it.
