1. Difference of blades

The leaves of the thornless holly are oval, hard leathery, alternate, entire, with a sharp and hard tip. The leaf surface is green and shiny. The leaves of Pyracantha are obovate or obovate-oblong, with a blunt or slightly concave tip, a wedge-shaped base, and serrated edges.

2. The difference between flowers

The thornless holly has umbels and is beige in color. Pyracantha has compound cymes and is white in color.

3. Fruit Difference

The thornless holly is spherical in shape, red in color when ripe, and uniform in size. The fruits will not wither even in winter. The fruit of Pyracantha is orange-red or dark red and is also spherical. The fruiting period is from August to November.
