Peach seed sowing timePeach seeds can be sown in spring and autumn. Spring sowing is suitable for sowing when the frozen soil has just melted, while autumn sowing is from September to November each year. Peach is one of the earliest fruit trees to bloom, but it takes 3-4 years from sowing to flowering, and 2 years to identify the fruit after fruiting, so the preliminary identification of hybrid seedlings takes 5-6 years. Peach seeds sowing in summerOf course peaches can be planted in summer. Although the suitable time for planting peaches is either from February to May or from September to November, these are actually just the most suitable planting seasons. There is sufficient sunlight in summer to ensure that the peaches germinate, so peaches can be planted. Peach seed sowing methodThe sowing time for peach seeds is in spring and autumn. Before planting, you must prepare the seeds and dry them in the sun. In order to make them germinate faster, it is best to soak them in germination liquid first, take them out after about ten days and then dry them. Prepare loose, fertile, well-drained soil, disinfect it in advance, and then sow the treated seeds. Water it once after sowing to keep the soil moist so that it can germinate better. Peach seed sowing management1. Seed treatment Before sowing peach seeds, they need to be soaked in 300 times diluted 30% carbendazim for 12 hours for disinfection to reduce the occurrence of diseases and pests in the seedling stage. During the disinfection process, stir once every 3 hours and remove the empty shells and rotten seeds floating on the surface. After soaking, take out and dry the water. If sowing in autumn, you can sow directly. If sowing in spring, you need to store in sand before sowing. Specific operation of sand storage: dig trenches in a shady, ventilated and well-drained place with a depth of 50-80 cm and a width of 60-100 cm. Mix the seeds with pre-prepared wet sand in a volume ratio of 1:3. First, spread a layer of wet sand about 10 cm thick on the bottom of the ditch, then pile the mixed seeds in the ditch, about 10 cm from the ground, cover the ditch with wet sand, and then build up the soil into a mound to prevent water accumulation. After burying for 100 to 120 days, you can take out and sow. 2. Germination after sowing The peach seeds will germinate 15 days after sowing. As long as the temperature, moisture and soil in the planting area can meet the growth needs of the peach, the peach will germinate at the normal time. Otherwise, the germination time of the peach will be prolonged, so you should choose a suitable environment to plant peaches. 3. Seed germination management After the peach seedlings emerge, strengthen field management, including watering, weeding, and preventing diseases and pests. When the seedlings grow to a certain height, promptly remove the side shoots close to the ground on the trunk to help the peach seedlings grow stronger. Then, transplant them as needed, or graft them and use them as rootstocks. |
