Introduction to Tobacco Growth

Tobacco is sensitive to temperature, and low temperature can promote the early development of tobacco plants. It is native to South America and is widely cultivated in provinces and regions in northern and southern China.

Tobacco growth cycle

Tobacco grows best in loose light soil and has good quality. Its life span is divided into two periods: the seedling bed period and the field period. The seedling bed period refers to the period from sowing to transplanting, which is generally 60 days, and the field period refers to the period from transplanting the tobacco seedlings to harvesting, which is generally 100-120 days.

Tobacco growth rate

Tobacco is divided into two stages: vegetative growth and reproductive growth. The growth of roots, stems and leaves is vegetative growth, while the growth of flowers, fruits and seeds is reproductive growth. It usually takes 60 days from sowing to transplanting, and the field period refers to the period from transplanting tobacco seedlings to harvesting, which is generally 100-120 days.

Temperature management: Tobacco grows best in an environment of 24-29 degrees, with the highest temperature being 35 degrees. If it is below 7 degrees, its growth process will stop.

Fertilization management : The basal fertilizer for tobacco can be fully decomposed farmyard manure, stable manure or pig manure, potassium sulfate compound fertilizer, cake fertilizer and dry chicken manure. The topdressing of tobacco seedbed should be frequent and light, from light to heavy. Topdressing should be pig manure and urine.
