Can cherry trees be potted?

Cherry trees can be potted. It is best to choose a pot with high permeability and provide it with suitable sunlight and soil, and the plant will survive. Potted plants and ground planting each have their own advantages.

For potted cherry trees, you can use a flowerpot with a diameter of about 50 cm. It doesn’t need to be too big. You need to change the pot in time as the plant grows. If the potted cherry tree is well maintained, it can bloom and bear fruit.

Cherry tree pot cultivation method

1. Soil

The cherry tree has relatively high requirements for soil. Because of its well-developed root system, it requires the soil to be fertile, loose, deep, and slightly acidic. If it is to be maintained in a potted plant, it can be prepared with garden soil and sandy soil.

2. Pruning

The pruning time of cherry trees needs to be determined according to the growth of the trees, mainly to control the growth height of the plants, especially when the number of buds is particularly large, timely pruning is required.

3. Fertilization

Cherry trees have higher requirements for fertilizer during their growth period. If fertilizer is needed, the principle of "thin fertilizer and frequent fertilizer" should be followed. Generally, fertilizer should be applied once every half a month.

4. Moisture

Cherry trees have many branches and leaves, so they need to be watered frequently when the temperature is high. The principle of watering should be followed. Otherwise, if the soil is too dry, it will affect the growth and flowering and fruiting of the cherry trees.

5. Temperature

Cherry trees are relatively cold-resistant and need to be kept at an ambient temperature of around 25°C during cultivation. If the winter is too cold, potted plants should be moved indoors for maintenance.
