Mangosteen planting conditions and regional temperature requirements

Introduction to Mangosteen

Mangosteen is commonly known as mangosteen, or mountain bamboo, mangosteen, and mangosteen. It is a small tree with a height of 12-20 meters. It has many branches and shiny leaves that are oval or elliptical-rectangular in shape. Mangosteen is divided into three varieties, namely oil bamboo fruit, flower bamboo fruit and sand bamboo fruit.

Mangosteen Planting Conditions

Mangosteen is not very demanding on the soil and is suitable for planting in loose, fertile sandy loam rich in organic matter with a pH value of 5-6.5. Mangosteen prefers a humid environment. An annual rainfall of 1300-2500 mm in tropical regions can satisfy its vigorous growth. The suitable growth temperature is between 25-35 degrees, and the air humidity is above 80% for vigorous growth.

Mangosteen is a typical tropical fruit. It was originally distributed in the Maluku region of Southeast Asia. It is also cultivated in some African and Asian regions. It is also distributed in Taiwan, Guangdong, Yunnan and other places in China.

Mangosteen Planting Time

Mangosteen has a long growth cycle and needs 10 years of maintenance before it can bear fruit. It has very strict requirements on the environment and is not resistant to high or low temperatures. The temperature cannot be lower than 4.4 degrees or higher than 37.8 degrees. It is suitable for planting in spring and autumn, and the seeds must be kept moist before germination.

Benefits of Mangosteen Planting

The yield of mangosteen per acre is about 1,000 jin, and the market price is around 20 yuan. The profit per acre is 20,000 yuan. After deducting all costs, the net profit is more than 18,000 yuan. If planted for one year, the economic life span is 70 years. After that, the annual cost will be reduced, while the profit will continue to rise.
