What fertilizer is good for growing peanuts?

Peanut fertilizer

It is better to use organic fertilizer and phosphorus and potassium fertilizer for fertilizing peanuts. It is important to apply base fertilizer during planting. You can use fully decomposed farmyard manure. During its growth period, chemical fertilizer and organic fertilizer should be used in combination. Topdressing should be done before the flowering and needle-laying period to make the pods grow fuller and more evenly.

Peanut fertilizer

Peanuts are sensitive to phosphorus fertilizers and prefer fertilizers containing more phosphorus. During the base fertilization process, appropriately increase the application of phosphorus fertilizers or choose special peanut fertilizers with higher phosphorus content. This can effectively increase the yield of peanuts.

Peanut topdressing

Peanuts have a great demand for fertilizer during the pod-setting period, and topdressing should be done before row closing, mainly phosphate fertilizer. Usually, about 7 kg of superphosphate or 4-5 kg of diammonium phosphate are applied. However, the soil fertility is relatively high, and adding too much fertilizer will cause the plants to grow too tall, so topdressing should be restrained.

Fertilizer for peanut growth

Peanuts require less fertilizer during the seedling stage. If the base fertilizer is not applied in time or is insufficient, nitrogen fertilizer should be applied appropriately. For fields with sufficient base fertilizer and fertile soil, no additional fertilizer is required.

Fertilizer for peanut fruiting period

Peanuts require a lot of fertilizer during their growth period. You can spray potassium diammonium phosphate solution multiple times to promote the healthy growth of peanut plants. Spraying during the fruit-filling period has a significant yield-increasing effect. In the later stage of peanut growth, you can spray urea solution on the leaves to avoid premature aging of peanuts and increase yield.

The correct way to fertilize peanuts

When planting peanuts, it is necessary to apply heavy base fertilizer, which should account for more than 80% of the total amount of potassium fertilizer and phosphorus fertilizer. Pay attention to the separation of manure and seeds to avoid seed burn. On acidic calcium-deficient soils, slaked lime or gypsum should be applied as seed fertilizer to adjust the soil pH. Gypsum or lime can be partially applied as a topdressing in the fruiting layer during the flowering and needle-setting period to make the pods fuller.

Precautions for peanut fertilization

When fertilizing peanuts, it is best to apply fertilizer in the morning and afternoon when the weather is good, not in the hot noon, otherwise fertilizer damage will occur. In addition, do not apply fertilizer too many times, and the concentration of fertilizer should not be too high. When applying base fertilizer, it must be fully decomposed, and water can be applied once after each fertilization.
