According to the processing method, it can also be divided into raw sun-dried ginseng, red ginseng, and sugared ginseng.

Ginseng prefers a cold and humid environment, has a strong cold resistance, is not resistant to high temperatures, and avoids direct sunlight, and is suitable for growing under diffuse light.

Ginseng Planting Climate and Temperature

Ginseng prefers a cool environment, with an annual accumulated temperature of 2000-3000 degrees. The planting area must have sufficient precipitation, with annual precipitation between 500-1000 mm. It prefers a low temperature environment, with 20 to 44 cm of snow accumulation and a frost-free period of 125 to 150 days.

Suitable areas for growing ginseng

Ginseng is suitable for planting in loose, fertile, well-drained, humus-rich brown forest soil or mountain gray brown forest soil. The best pH value is between 5.5 and 6.2. Ginseng is mostly distributed in eastern Liaoning, the eastern half of Jilin and eastern Heilongjiang. It has been introduced in Hebei, Shanxi and Shandong, and is also cultivated in the Soviet Union, North Korea and Japan.

Ginseng Planting Time

Ginseng can be sown in the spring of each year, but it must be sown before the end of April. If sown in summer, the specific time is June-July. If sown in autumn, it needs to be completed in mid-to-late October.

Ginseng Planting Benefits

A lot of costs need to be invested in the early stage of ginseng planting. First of all, ginseng is very suitable for dense planting. 40,000-50,000 plants can be planted in one acre. The market price of ginseng seeds is about 1 yuan per grain. Therefore, the seed cost of planting one acre of ginseng is 50,000-60,000 yuan. Then add fertilizer, watering, land, labor and other expenses, the total cost is about 70,000-80,000 yuan.

Under normal management, one acre of ginseng can produce about 5,000 kilograms. If all of it is sold, the profit will be 50,000 to 100,000 yuan. Now that people's quality of life is getting better and better, the demand for ginseng is also increasing, so the prospects for planting are very promising.
