Reasonable indoor flower cultivation in summer promotes health

Functional complementary flowers

Most flowers carry out photosynthesis during the day, absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen, and respire at night, absorbing oxygen and releasing carbon dioxide, while cacti, stonecrop and other species do the opposite.

Keeping flowers with "complementary functions" in the same room can not only balance the oxygen and carbon dioxide content in the room, but also keep the indoor air fresh.

It is reported that daffodils, mirabilis jalapa, chrysanthemums and cockscombs can convert nitrogen oxides into proteins, thereby eliminating the toxicity.

Plants that absorb harmful gases

Chlorophytum, aloe vera, and tiger tail plant can absorb large amounts of indoor pollutants such as formaldehyde, eliminating and preventing indoor air pollution. Especially spider plants, if you put a pot of them in your room, within 24 hours, its leaves will "eat" harmful gases such as carbon monoxide in the indoor air, and its effect is even better than that of air filters.

Milan, orchid, lilac, cactus, dahlia, etc. can effectively purify the air. Camellia can resist the invasion of harmful substances such as sulfur dioxide, while crape myrtle is more resistant to indoor toxic gases such as sulfur dioxide, hydrogen chloride, chlorine, and hydrogen fluoride.

Plum trees have the ability to monitor environmental pollution such as sulfur dioxide, hydrogen fluoride, hydrogen sulfide, ethylene, benzene, and aldehydes. Once sulfides appear in the environment, spots will appear on their leaves, and they may even turn yellow and fall off.

It should be pointed out that these functions of plants have certain limits, and their effects increase with the number of plants planted. It is impossible to meet these needs entirely with indoor plants. Therefore, it is necessary to open windows frequently to allow air convection.

Don’t place too many plants in your home

In addition, experts also give a special reminder: Do not use your living room as a "flower room" in summer. If you place too many flowers and trees and the indoor ventilation is limited, the air will be as thin as on the plateau. Especially at night, most flowers will release carbon dioxide and absorb oxygen to compete with people. Moreover, most living rooms are closed at night. The carbon dioxide exhaled by the soil in the flower pots, the human body and pets will increase the concentration of carbon dioxide, causing hypoxia in the human body, affecting health, and having the opposite effect.
