How and when to plant fast vegetables

Fast vegetable planting time

Quick vegetables can be planted all year round. They grow vigorously, have a short cycle, and are heat-resistant and moisture-resistant. The main sowing methods of quick vegetables are broadcasting and row sowing. Broadcasting is simple and convenient, while row sowing will make later field operations more convenient.

Planting Quick Vegetables in Spring

The best time to sow quick vegetables is mid-to-late February, when the temperature is still relatively low. The seedlings that have undergone the low-temperature process will grow stronger. It is very important to disinfect the seeds during planting, as the seeds are easily contaminated by bacteria, diseases and pests during storage.

Summer planting of fast vegetables

The summer planting season for quick vegetables is generally from August to October. The day before sowing, the seedbed can be watered sufficiently, and sowing can be done the next day. Generally, the sowing method is adopted. Fine wood ash can be used as "seed covering soil", which is gently spread and covered on the seeds.

Planting fast vegetables in autumn

It is recommended to plant quick vegetables in September in autumn. Keep the soil moist during planting, with appropriate dryness and wetness. If the soil is too dry, you can water it slightly, but not too much. It is better to keep the soil slightly moist.

Winter Planting of Quick Vegetables

It is advisable to grow fast vegetables indoors in the north in winter, usually in December. When growing indoors, it is necessary to pay attention to controlling the temperature of the seedbed and pay attention to temperature detection. If the temperature is too high, it is easy to cause excessive growth.

How to grow fast vegetables

1. There are two main methods for sowing quick vegetables, namely broadcasting and row sowing. Broadcasting is faster, while row sowing will facilitate later field operations.

2. You can wet the soil before sowing, and then sow. Generally, seedlings will emerge in about three to four days. If the temperature is high, water frequently to maintain the moisture of the soil. After the seedlings emerge, water them once. This watering can promote the growth of fast vegetable seedlings. Finally, if there is too much water in the field, drain the water in time.

3. When watering the quick vegetables for the first time after they emerge, you can use manure water. If you don’t have it, you can use an appropriate amount of urea mixed with water instead. Finally, fertilize them reasonably according to the growth conditions of the quick vegetables. It is best to use organic fertilizer for spraying, which will not affect the quality of the quick vegetables.

4. Quick vegetables can be harvested in batches. Although the sowing time is the same, there will be certain differences in the emergence and growth rate of quick vegetables. Therefore, the first batch of quick vegetables can be harvested when it has grown about 10 leaves and is about 15-20 cm. During the harvesting process, add an appropriate amount of quick vegetables, but pay attention to insect prevention.
