Can Milan be planted in the ground?

Milan can be planted in the ground or outdoors. Whether it is better to plant Milan in the ground or in pots depends on whether it is in the south or the north. It can be planted in frost-free areas in the south, but it cannot overwinter outdoors in the north and will be frozen to death.

Ground-planted Milan is a perennial plant. If Milan is planted in the north, there is a high probability that it will not survive. If you want Milan to survive the winter smoothly, you can move it indoors before the frost, keep the temperature at 10℃~12℃, place it in a well-lit location, control watering, and stop fertilizing.

Planting Milan in the Summer

Milan can be planted in the yard. It can grow in an environment of about 30℃ in summer. Watering should be done in the early morning or evening. In the event of a storm or typhoon, it should be placed indoors or dumped on the spot. Apply a thin fertilizer once a week. After leaf-eating pests occur, they should be removed by pruning or manual removal.

Milan ground planting method

1. Use soil

It is suitable for planting in weakly acidic soil with a pH of 5 to 6.5. If it is exposed to soil with a pH of 6.5 for a long time, its leaves will gradually turn yellow. In soil with a pH of 7.5, its leaves will turn yellow severely, or even fall off in large numbers and die.

2. Water and fertilizer control

Milan flowers can only grow normally if they have sufficient nutrients. When caring for them, you should apply thin fertilizer once every 10 days or so. You can choose cake fertilizer water to supplement nutrients. Also, pay attention to keeping the growing soil moist. Generally, you can replenish water once every 3 days to prevent the Milan flowers from lacking water or waterlogging.

3. Temperature control

It has very poor cold resistance. If the temperature is too low, the magnolia will freeze to death, so a temperature of 25℃ is usually required for the magnolia to grow normally.

Things to note when planting Milan in the ground

1. Ground-planted Milan grows relatively fast and its branches grow more vigorously, so it needs to be pruned in time.

2. When pruning, you can just shorten the branches that exceed the branch shape. After the growth is large, you should promptly thin out the inner branches to ensure internal ventilation and light.

3. When planting in the ground, make sure it has sufficient light. Insufficient light will affect its growth and flowering.
