Can loquat trees be planted at the doorstep?

Loquat trees cannot be planted in front of the house or in the middle of the courtyard. This is a taboo in planting loquat trees in Wuxi. In Wuxi dialect, loquat trees are called "Bai Ba". People believe that planting them in front of the house or in the middle of the courtyard will bring bad meaning and is very unlucky. If there are no such requirements, they can be planted.

Feng Shui of Planting Loquat Trees at the Doorstep

Because loquats retain frost in autumn, bloom in winter, and ripen in summer, loquats have always been known as the best fruit that "prepare for the four seasons." Moreover, loquats have been regarded as a symbol of nobility, beauty, auspiciousness, and prosperity since the Tang and Song dynasties. If a family does not pay attention to feng shui, there is nothing wrong with planting a loquat tree in front of their door.

Tips for planting loquat trees at home

1. Seed collection: Loquat seeds are generally collected from late October to mid-November. After the peel softens, the pulp is removed, cleaned with water and stored.
2. Prepare loose soil for sowing. It is best to sow in early March. Cover the seeds with a layer of soil after sowing to help the seedlings take root. Cover them with a layer of straw and they will germinate in about 40 days.
3. Transplant with soil After the seedlings sprout and grow a little bigger, you can transplant them with soil. You should also be careful when removing the seedlings before transplanting with soil to avoid damaging the root system, which will not be conducive to the survival rate of transplanting.
4. Management after transplanting: After the seedlings are transplanted, certain care and light should be provided, such as keeping warm and moisturizing, and ensuring sufficient fertilizer. If the local soil is relatively dry, you can also cover the surface with straw to keep warm and moisturize, so as to facilitate the survival of the seedlings.
