Cultivation methods and precautions of succulent fire festival

The succulent plant Fire Festival is super hardy and easy to grow. It is one of the easier succulent plants to grow, and it is easy to color. After it is grown to its full potential, the leaves of the Fire Festival are as red as flames and have high ornamental value.

How to grow succulent fire festival

1. Adequate lighting

The succulent plant Fire Festival is very sun-resistant and has no obvious dormancy period in summer. It can withstand high temperatures of 35 degrees without shading. If provided with 4-6 hours of direct sunlight in autumn, the leaf edges of the Fire Festival will gradually turn red. Of course, it is better to grow it in the sun all day or outdoors, and the leaves will color faster.

2. Loose soil

The succulent fire festival plant is easy to grow and has a wide adaptability to soil. It is suitable for planting in loose, breathable and well-drained sandy soil. The nutrient soil can be prepared by mixing 4 parts of nutrient soil or leaf mold and 6 parts of medical stone or coal slag.

3. Appropriate amount of topdressing

The succulent plant Fire Plant is in its growing season in spring and autumn. You can give it some fertilizer. As long as you don't apply too much nitrogen fertilizer, it will not affect the coloring of the Fire Plant or cause it to grow too tall. Using the right fertilizer will help the Fire Plant grow strong, with thick stems and fat leaves, making it easier to grow.

4. Control watering

If you want to grow the Fire Plant in good condition, don't water it every few days. If you water it too much, the Fire Plant will remain green all the time, the leaves will not easily color, and it will also cause it to grow too tall, accelerate the upward growth of the stems, and reduce its ornamental value.

Precautions for the maintenance of succulent fire festival

When fertilizing the fire plant, the temperature also needs to be considered. If the temperature is above 30 degrees, fertilizer cannot be applied. It can be done when the temperature drops. Generally, a slow-release fertilizer with high phosphorus and potassium content and low nitrogen content is used. It only needs to be applied once. This can prevent the fire plant from growing too tall and is beneficial for strengthening the roots and leaves.

When watering the succulent Fire Festival, generally wait until the soil is completely dry and the leaves have wrinkled before watering thoroughly. If the temperature difference between day and night is large, you must control the watering so that the whole plant becomes red like fire, which is very charming.
