Winter ryegrass sowing time

Winter ryegrass is a grass plant. It has strong adaptability to the environment, is high-yielding, alkali-resistant, barren-resistant, cold-resistant, highly resistant to diseases and insects, and has strong regeneration ability.

The germination temperature of winter ryegrass seeds is 13-20 degrees. If the temperature is below 5 degrees or above 35 degrees, it will be difficult to germinate. It is generally sown from mid-October to late November.

Winter ryegrass sowing method

The sowing method of winter ryegrass can be selected according to needs. If grass needs to be supplied as early as possible, seedling transplanting can be used. If there is a lack of labor, sowing on the rice bottom can be chosen.

1. Sowing on the rice bottom: Soak the winter ryegrass in 35-degree warm water for 5-8 hours, pick it up and put it in a well-ventilated place to dry, then mix it with fine sand and sow it. 20-30 days before the late rice is harvested, the seeds can be sown into the soil of late rice, with a sowing amount of 1.5-2 kg/mu.

2. Germination: If you want to increase the germination rate of winter ryegrass seeds, you can soak the seeds in clean water and warm water for germination. You can also soak them in fungicides or pesticides for disinfection.

3. Daily maintenance: Winter rye has strong adaptability to the environment, but if the temperature is low in winter, appropriate warming measures are still needed, and timely watering and fertilization are also needed so that it can grow quickly.

Winter ryegrass ripe for harvest

Winter ryegrass grows relatively fast. It can be harvested for the first time after 35 or 50 days, and for the second time after 25 days. The yield per acre can reach about 12,000 to 15,000 kilograms.
