Cucumbers can be planted in two seasons, spring and summer. When planted in the northern region in spring, the sowing time is around mid-February. In the southern region where the environment is warm, the sowing time can be earlier. The autumn planting time is about 70 days before the frost. Greenhouse autumn cucumbers can be sown from late December to early January.

Cucumber harvest season

Spring cucumbers are harvested and put on the market in mid-April, and autumn cucumbers are harvested in September and October. The yield of cucumbers planted in spring is about 15,000 catties per mu, and the yield of cucumbers planted in autumn is about 12,000 catties per mu.

Cucumber planting steps and methods

1. Germination: Rinse the cucumber seeds in 55-degree water for about 10 minutes, then soak them in warm water at about 25 degrees for about 5 hours, then take them out and soak them for another 3 hours, then dry them and place them in a 25-degree environment for 2 days of germination;

2. Land preparation: Choose land that has not been used to grow melons and vegetables, deep plow the soil, make it level, apply base fertilizer, and keep the soil moist;

3. Sowing: Put a rack on the planting ground, dig a hole under the rack and bury the young shoots in the hole. Don't bury it too deep. Straighten the seedlings and then cover them with a thin layer of soil.
