Where do cantaloupe seeds come from?

Hami melon is a specialty of Hami area in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Its fruit is spherical or oval and has a sweet taste. Its seeds are yellow-white, oval or oblong, with one end pointed and a relatively smooth surface. The seeds are usually harvested after the fruit is ripe.

Cantaloupe Seed Planting

The best time to sow Hami melon seeds is from February to May and from August to October. The seeds sown in these two time periods have the highest germination rate and grow the best. When the temperature about 10 cm below the soil surface can stabilize at around 14 degrees, you can sow them. Seedlings will grow about a week after planting.
