Yunnan Paris polyphylla is mainly produced in Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan. In addition, Paris polyphylla is also called seven-leafed Paris polyphylla and is grown in Guangdong, Guangxi, Jiangxi, Fujian, Shaanxi, Sichuan and other places.

Paris polyphylla growth conditions

Paris polyphylla is distributed in areas with an altitude of 700 to 1100 meters. It is suitable for planting in loose, fertile, well-permeable slightly acidic humus soil or sandy soil. It should not be planted in alkaline soil, clay, soil that is prone to waterlogging and compaction.

Paris polyphylla prefers a cool, semi-shaded, humid environment. It is afraid of both drought and waterlogging. It likes oblique or scattered light and cannot tolerate strong light exposure. It requires a shaded environment to grow. Strong light will cause the leaves to wither and fall off.

The suitable temperature for root growth and terminal bud germination of Paris polyphylla is between 18-20 degrees, the suitable temperature for seedling emergence is 20 degrees, the suitable temperature for above-ground plant growth is 16-20 degrees, and the suitable temperature for underground rhizome growth is 14-18 degrees.

The germination cycle of Fritillaria seeds takes 2 years. It sprouts in March and April in spring, grows a taproot at the end of the year, and sprouts a heart-shaped leaf in the second year.

Planting time and method of Paris polyphylla

Paris polyphylla is usually sown directly in early spring, in early to mid-January. Level the soil in advance, with a row spacing of 30 cm and a plant spacing of 20 cm. Then dig small pits 4 cm deep, dig 4 rows in a narrow 130 cm plot and 1 row in a wide 150 cm plot. Soak the seeds before sowing, mix with wood ash and sow, cover with a thin layer of soil, keep the soil moist, and the seedlings will germinate in 7 to 10 days.
