What are the cultivation methods and precautions of Lisianthus

Eustoma Introduction

Lisianthus belongs to the Gentianaceae family. Its plant height can grow to about 30-100 cm. There are two varieties: single-petal and double-petal.

When propagating, the method of sowing is generally adopted, and sowing is carried out in September-October or January-February each year. After planting, it will bloom in about 120 days.

Lisianthus cultivation method

The seedlings of lisianthus grow relatively slowly, so do not plant them too deep when transplanting. The soil used for planting is generally leaf mold and garden soil, and then a small amount of decomposed organic fertilizer is added. The soil needs to be kept moist during maintenance, but the water supply needs to be reduced in the middle of growth.

Watering method

Lisianthus grows in a relatively humid environment, but it needs a small amount of watering when caring for it. It should not cause water accumulation, otherwise it will damage its root system. However, the water content should not be too little, otherwise the growth rate will slow down.

Fertilization method

Lisianthus still needs fertilizer. During the maintenance period, it needs to be fertilized every 5-7 days. Generally, thin fertilizer is used. Some phosphorus fertilizer can be applied, and it needs to be applied once before flowering, which is more conducive to flowering.

Pruning methods

When lisianthus blooms, the flowers need to be cut and used as cut flowers. This will allow the next batch of flowers to have sufficient nutrients. More nutrients are consumed during the flowering period.

Things to note when growing lisianthus

When caring for lisianthus, you need to be careful and water it in moderation, otherwise it will affect its growth. It needs to be placed in a place with better lighting and good ventilation for maintenance.
