How to breed Hongyun Dangtou

Bromeliaceae is a plant of the Bromeliaceae family. It can be propagated by division. Commonly cultivated varieties include bright red, pink, golden yellow, and rose red.

The red lucky plant prefers a high temperature, humid, semi-shaded environment. It can be placed in a warm and bright room all year round. It can be exposed to full sunlight in winter and soft light in spring and autumn. It needs shade in summer and is not cold-resistant. The wintering temperature needs to be above 10℃.

Light: The red fortune plant needs to be maintained under bright diffuse light. The leaves will be bright and it will bloom regularly. In winter, it needs to be provided with 4-5 hours of direct sunlight. On rainy days, artificial lighting can be used to increase the light. In summer, it needs to be moved to a cool place, and indoor cultivation needs to be covered with a shade net.

Temperature: The temperature suitable for the growth of Red Fortune Plant is 16-24℃. It is not resistant to low temperature environment in winter, and the temperature should not be lower than 10℃. It can be moved indoors for maintenance.

Watering method

During the growth period of the Red Fortune Plant, just keep the soil moist, and do not allow water to accumulate. When watering, do not use tap water directly. It is best to use purified water or tap water that has been dried in the sun.

Fertilization method

During the growing season of Hongyun Dangtou, you can use liquid fertilizer once every 15-20 days. Generally, fermented chemical fertilizer is used. The fertilizer needs to be diluted with water before use. You can put it in the potting soil or spray it on the leaves with a small spray bottle.

Pruning methods

The mother plant of Red Fortune Dangtou will only bloom once, so you need to trim the withered flowers in time after flowering. You can also directly cut off the mother plant, trim the roots, and then replant it.

Things to note when breeding Hongyun Dangtou

1. Spots: The red lucky plant cannot tolerate direct sunlight, which will burn the leaves and cause spots. It should be placed in a semi-shaded and ventilated place with bright scattered light.

2. Root rot: The roots of the red lucky plant are short and like to be in contact with the air, so do not use too much fertilizer, otherwise the roots will rot and the leaves will turn yellow. You should use dilute fertilizer and water.
