Cactus growth environment conditions and characteristics

Cactus growth environment conditions and requirements

Cactus originally grows in tropical regions and is planted in Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Yunnan and Guizhou in China. Cactus likes warmth and is resistant to high temperatures, but the maximum should not exceed 35 degrees. In addition, you should also pay attention to the temperature difference between morning and evening in winter. A large temperature difference can easily cause frostbite. After the temperature recovers in spring, you can move it outdoors and start growing when the temperature is above 15 degrees.

Cactus Growth Temperature

The temperature suitable for cactus growth is 20 to 30 degrees. If the temperature is too high, it will stop growing, and if the temperature is too low, it will also stop growing. In winter, it is best to move it to a greenhouse and control the temperature above 5 degrees. Be careful not to water it frequently and keep the soil dry.

Cactus growth humidity

The humidity requirement for the cactus growth environment can reach 60%-70%. As the temperature rises, the cactus grows vigorously and needs to be watered sufficiently. Watering should be done when the soil is dry and when the soil is wet. That is, water it thoroughly once and do not water it for many days. If you water it too frequently and there is too much water, it will not only fail to promote growth, but will also cause root rot.

Cactus growing soil

Cactus likes sunlight and is afraid of moisture. Its roots cannot be immersed in water for a long time, so when choosing soil, the first thing to consider is sandy soil, which has good drainage properties.

Cactus growth cycle and process

Cactus sprouts and grows in spring, blooms in summer, continues to grow in autumn, and hibernates in winter. If it is in tropical areas, it can grow all year round. In other places, it will only grow when the temperature is above 20℃. The appearance of the cactus will not change during the growth process, only its size will become larger and larger. The thorns of the cactus are green when young, and the thorns grow very densely at this time. When they grow up, the thorns will turn white and grow very scattered.
