Mingjing has a round face!

Mingjing is also called flat-leaved lotus palm. Some succulent friends even say that it looks like it has been ironed by an electric iron.

The embellished mirror looks like this:

The mirror is like this:

Ji Mingjing is a hybrid variety of Mingjing. It is very easy to produce side buds, which are much smaller than Mingjing.

If you take care of your mirror like this, even a big pancake can be beautiful!

1. The leaves are very large

Compared with other succulents, the mirror plant is very strange. Its leaves can grow to 40-50cm. The new leaves grow close to the old leaves and move upward or downward at the same time, looking like a large turtle shell.

2. Get more sun

If you want the mirror plant to grow well, you usually need to place it in a well-lit place with plenty of sunlight, such as a south balcony, south windowsill or outdoors, and give it plenty of sunlight.

3. Choose a larger flower pot

The size of the mirror plant is relatively large. In order to allow it to grow freely, you can change it to a slightly larger pot when repotting it in spring and autumn. The soil should also be loose and breathable nutrient soil. It is best to add some sand or other particles to increase drainage.

4. Reduce watering in winter

Mingjing grows rapidly in spring and autumn, and is afraid of freezing when the temperature at home is low in winter, so try to keep the indoor temperature above 8℃ in winter to allow Mingjing to grow normally.

5. Apply more nitrogen fertilizer

The leaves of Mingjing are always green, so when fertilizing, you can add more nitrogen-containing fertilizers as much as possible. Such as compound fertilizer, slow-release fertilizer or decomposed soybean water.

6. It is easy to die after flowering

The mirror plant usually blooms in late spring and early summer. The small flowers are densely covered with yellow leaves, and the flower stems can reach 40-50cm. However, it is easy to die after flowering, so you should cut off the flower arrows in time to prevent the death of the mirror plant.

If you propagate Mingjing in this way, one pot will instantly become 100 pots!

Mingjing is generally propagated by cuttings.

1. When you see small side buds growing on the Mingjing plant, don't feel sorry for it. Just be ruthless and break them off.

2. Place the side buds in a cool and ventilated place to dry the wounds, then prepare loose and breathable nutrient soil. After watering it thoroughly, insert the side buds directly into the soil. You don’t have to take care of them anymore. The side buds will take root in about 2 weeks!

3. After rooting, you will get several large pots of new mirror-like pancake faces!

<<:  Pinch the roots of the forsythia "branches" and plant them in the soil. Use this "technique" and you don't have to worry about enjoying the flowers in advance!

>>:  Put a diaper in the pot, the cuttings will take root 100%, and they will grow even if you don’t water them for half a month!
