Narcissus growth environment conditions and requirements

The daffodil plant is native to eastern Asia and is widely distributed in my country. It prefers a warm, humid, well-lit growing environment. It has strong vitality and can tolerate shade but not cold. It requires a growing area with neither severe cold in winter nor scorching heat in summer.

Daffodil growth temperature

The most suitable growth temperature for daffodils is 15℃, but after the flower buds grow out, the temperature must be controlled at 15-20℃. The plant has a certain degree of cold resistance and can temporarily withstand -2℃.

Daffodil growth humidity

Daffodils prefer a humid climate environment and need moist but non-waterlogged soil. The air humidity should be around 80% and they need to be watered thoroughly every 1-2 days during the growing season.

Daffodil growing soil

Daffodils like loose, soft, breathable, humus-rich acidic soil. When caring for them, you can use garden soil, sandy soil, and leaf mold to prepare them to meet the growth needs of the plants.

Narcissus growth cycle and process

Daffodils need to be planted for 2-3 years before they can bloom. The plants are cultivated in autumn from September to October. The leaves will turn yellow in May of the following year, and the bulbs will go dormant in June. However, the plants will continue to carry out physiological activities during the dormant period, and the large bulbs will bloom in winter.
