How to grow azalea in pots in summer

1. Shade

Rhododendron is more suitable for growing in a semi-shaded environment, and the light in summer will be hotter than usual, so good shading measures must be taken. If it is exposed to direct sunlight, its leaves will be burned, causing them to wither and burn. If the plant is exposed to the sun for a long time, it will die.

2. Cooling

The temperature in summer is the highest in the year, and plants cannot grow in an environment with too high temperatures, so the temperature needs to be lowered. The most suitable temperature is between 12℃ and 25℃, and cannot be higher than the extreme temperature of 35℃. If the temperature is too high, the plant will enter a semi-dormant state and its growth will slow down.

3. Humidity

It likes a growing environment with high humidity. The climate in summer can be very dry, so you need to spray more water than usual to increase the humidity. Or you can place a small basin of water next to the potted plant to effectively increase the humidity.

4. Ventilation

Because of the high temperature, if the maintenance environment is not ventilated, it will become very stuffy, which will have a lot of impact on the growth of the plants. When growing indoors, be sure to open the windows more often, or move the plants outdoors in the afternoon to allow the plants to absorb fresh air.
