How to cultivate the bird's nest palm to make it more vigorous

Crassula growth conditions

The Crane's palm likes a warm and dry environment, and the soil should be fertile, well-drained sandy loam. It likes warmth and sunlight, but it can also grow normally under scattered light conditions indoors. It is prone to sunscald if exposed to the summer sun, and the leaves will wilt or turn yellow. The suitable temperature for growth is 15-25℃, and the temperature for wintering must not be lower than 8℃.

How to grow the bird's nest

When growing Kullioideae, you must ensure that the soil is particularly fertile and loose to prevent root rot. The growth temperature should be controlled between 15 and 32 degrees. Kullioideae prefers sunlight, but during the high temperatures in summer, it needs proper shading. In winter, the flower pots should be moved into a shed to a sunny place.

Watering the Crassula

In spring and autumn, when watering the Kusanagi plant, water it once every 1-2 days. Do not allow water to accumulate. Spray water around the plant in summer. In winter, gradually reduce the frequency of watering. It is best to keep the soil in the pot slightly dry.

Fertilizing the Crassula

The bird's nest plant should be fertilized once every 10 days in spring and autumn. Fertilization should be stopped in summer when the temperature is relatively high, otherwise it will have a counterproductive effect. The bird's nest plant likes thin and light fertilizer, so the fertilizer needs to be diluted in time or mixed with clean water before fertilization.

Crassula ovata pest control

The method of prevention and control of anthracnose of Crassula ovata is to spray with methyl thiophanate. If scale insects appear, the method of prevention and control is to improve the ventilation environment and wash the plants in time. If the situation is serious, it can be sprayed with omethoate emulsion.

How to grow Swallow's Palm at home

1. Temperature: The suitable growth temperature for the bird's nest plant is about 20℃. The temperature in winter must be kept above 8℃. It is best to move it indoors for cultivation, otherwise it will get frostbite.

2. Watering: The Kusamaragus ovata needs to be watered frequently to keep the soil in the pot moist. Generally, it is watered once every 4 days, but it also depends on the moisture level of the soil to avoid water accumulation.

3. Soil: The soil for growing the bird's nest palm should have good air permeability and drainage. If the soil is not nutritious enough, it can be adjusted through appropriate fertilization in the later stage.

Precautions for the maintenance of Swallow's Palm

The growth of the Crane's Palm is phototropic. If we grow it on an indoor balcony, it is best to rotate the flowerpot once a week so that the plant can face the sun in different directions in turn. This way, it will grow more upright and will not grow in one direction.
