Rose growth environment conditions and characteristics

Rose growth environment conditions and requirements

Rose is a common ornamental and economic plant with beautiful flowers. It generally grows in mountains and slopes with good lighting conditions. It usually prefers to grow in a warm, humid and well-lit environment, and has a wider range of planting in temperate zones.

Rose growth temperature

Roses prefer a cool environment. During the growth period, the most suitable growth temperature for roses is 20-35 degrees. In addition, the most suitable temperature at night is around 12-15 degrees. Roses are cold-resistant and drought-resistant and have strong adaptability. When the temperature in winter is below 15 degrees, the rose plants will enter a dormant period.

Rose growth humidity

Roses like a humid environment. Both temperature and humidity will affect the flowering time of roses. Therefore, during the growth period, roses have higher requirements for humidity. Usually, the humidity is within the range of 20-40%, and the climate is warm, then roses can bloom smoothly.

Rose growing soil

When planting roses, they prefer loose and breathable soil. Generally, such soil has better drainage, which is beneficial to the breathing and growth of rose roots. In addition, clay loam should be avoided when planting because the air permeability of this soil is relatively poor.

Rose growth cycle and process

The growth cycle of roses is neither long nor short, generally lasting two years. Roses are shrubs with ever-changing petal shapes. It is generally appropriate to plant them around March in spring, and roses usually bloom around June in summer.
