Willow Growth Environment Conditions and Characteristics

Willow Growth Environmental Conditions and Requirements

Willow has a strong impact on the environment and can grow in plains, sand dunes, mountains, polar regions and other places. The plant prefers a warm, humid climate with plenty of light. It is distributed all over the world and has a general lifespan of about 20-30 years.

Willow Growth Temperature

The most suitable growth temperature for willow is around 20℃. The plant has very good cold resistance and can withstand temperatures as low as -39℃. It can grow in an environment with an annual average temperature of 2℃.

Willow Growth Humidity

Willow trees prefer a humid growing environment and require an air humidity of about 50%. However, their roots are not tolerant to waterlogging. If they survive in high-humidity soil for a long time, the roots of the plants are prone to rot.

Willow Growing Soil

Willows do not have high requirements for soil and can tolerate saline-alkali conditions, but fertile, loose, humus-rich acidic soil is best. The plants have strong vitality and can grow well even in harsh environments.

Willow Growth Cycle and Process

The peak growing season for willow trees is in spring and summer, with a growth cycle of about 60 days. Seeds can be collected in April each year. After sowing and propagation, the upper part will emerge from the soil, then gradually grow taller and thicker, and finally grow branches and leaves.
