What fertilizer is best for Phalaenopsis?

Phalaenopsis fertilizer

Phalaenopsis does not like fertilizer, but it also needs sufficient fertilizer during its growth process. Specifically, you can apply a small amount of thin liquid fertilizer before flowering in spring, and stop after the plant blooms.

Phalaenopsis can use compound fertilizer. If it grows vigorously, it should be applied with liquid fertilizer once a week. After flowering, it can be applied with liquid fertilizer mainly containing phosphorus and potassium fertilizer once every 10 days.

Phalaenopsis fertilization method

1. Fertilization in spring and summer: Spring and summer are the peak growth periods for Phalaenopsis. At this time, the plants should be fertilized with a thin organic liquid fertilizer every 7-10 days.

2. Fertilization in autumn and winter: Autumn and winter are the growth period of the plant's flower stems. Phosphorus fertilizer can be applied every 2-3 weeks to promote the differentiation of the plant's flower buds.

Homemade Phalaenopsis Fertilizer

It is more suitable to water Phalaenopsis with rice water. Put the leftover rice water in a sealed container and place it in the sun for about 15-20 days. Wait for it to fully ferment, then dilute it with water and use it as fertilizer for Phalaenopsis.

Phalaenopsis fertilizer damage

Too much fertilizer will cause root rot in Phalaenopsis. At this time, it is necessary to remove the plant from the pot in time, treat the roots, disinfect the wounds, replace the soil with new one and repot it.
