In the Yellow River basin, the temperature reaches -20℃ in winter, but as long as the environment is good, the plant can overwinter in the open air.

How to grow feather maple

During the growing season, feather maple needs to be given enough water, but be careful not to let water accumulate. Sufficient water can promote the growth of new buds. Feather maple likes an environment with plenty of light. It tries to receive full sunlight in spring, autumn and winter, but needs appropriate shade in summer.

Feather Maple Watering

The soil in the pot of Feather Maple should be kept moist at ordinary times, especially during the germination and leafing period. It should not be dry. After autumn, it is best to keep the soil in the pot dry. Water it in the morning and evening in summer, and it should be slightly dry after autumn.

Feather Maple Fertilization

During the vigorous growth period of feather maple, it is necessary to apply dilute fertilizer and water regularly, and pay attention to increasing the content of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, which is conducive to the bright color of the plant's leaves.

Feather Maple Pest and Disease Control

Common pests of feather maple include longhorn beetles and borers. During the peak period of adult longhorn beetles, the tree crown can be sprayed with highly effective cypermethrin at intervals of about half a month.

How to grow feather maple at home

When growing feather maple at home, it is best to place the plant outdoors in a well-lit place to allow its branches and leaves to fully photosynthesize. Appropriate shade is needed in summer to avoid sunburn.

When caring for feather maple, water it moderately to keep the soil moist. In addition, during the plant's growth period, apply fertilizers rich in phosphorus and potassium every 15 days to ensure adequate nutrients.

Feather maple maintenance precautions

Every spring, in order to avoid consuming unnecessary nutrients, weak branches, diseased branches, crossed branches and overlapping branches on the feather maple plants must be pruned off. At the same time, based on the tree shape of the feather maple, branches that grow too long on the plant should be shortened, leaving only 1 to 2 nodes on the branches.
