Method of growing osmanthus flowers in water

Method of growing osmanthus flowers in water

1. Maintain water quality

Whether the water quality is good or not is directly related to the rooting speed of water-grown osmanthus flowers. If you leave the cuttings aside after they are grafted, and don't change the water when it becomes dirty, then a lot of dirty matter in the water will affect the root growth, thereby slowing down the root growth. Therefore, after cuttings, it is necessary to change the water in time to ensure good water quality.

2. Pruning branches

If the branches are not pruned and have a lot of leaves, these leaves will consume a lot of nutrients that should be used for root growth, thus slowing down the root growth. In addition, if the base of the branch is not cut obliquely, the contact area with water is smaller, which will also cause it to take root more slowly. So, you should take it out, cut off most of the leaves, cut the bottom at an angle, and then reinsert it into the water. This will allow it to take root faster.

3. Rooting agent treatment

If you have done the above two points and still feel that the roots grow too slowly, you can treat the bottom of the branches with a rooting agent. Because rooting agents contain a lot of hormone-like substances, they can stimulate the growth of roots in cuttings. Specifically, put the rooting powder into water to dissolve it first, then put the bottom of the cuttings into it, soak it for 15-30 minutes, take it out and dry it, and then re-cut the cuttings.
