Can white orchid cuttings survive?

Can white orchid cuttings be transplanted?

White jasmine is a very popular ornamental flower plant. It looks elegant, beautiful and has a light and refreshing fragrance. Cuttings are a very common way to propagate white jasmine. Cuttings of white jasmine can survive. The cut branches of white jasmine can survive if they are directly inserted into the soil, but the survival rate is extremely low.

White orchid cutting time

If you want to increase the survival rate of white jasmine cuttings, you must choose the right time. Under natural conditions, the temperature in spring and autumn is more suitable at 20-25℃, which allows rooting faster and greatly improves the survival rate.

If the ambient temperature is too high or too low, it is easy to cause the cut to rot. If the temperature is controlled artificially, cuttings can be taken all year round.

White orchid cutting method and key points

1. Cuttings processing

When cutting white jasmine, you need to choose strong and insect-free branches for cuttings. The cut branches should be placed in a ventilated place to dry for a few days, and then cut again after the incision has recovered slightly. You can also use fire or a hair dryer to dry the surface of the incision to prevent rot, or you can dip it in some wood ash to prevent rot.

2. Growth environment

The best soil for white jasmine cuttings is sandy soil with good air permeability and drainage. Disinfect and sterilize it with 5% potassium permanganate solution before cutting. After the cuttings are completed, the soil should be kept moist, but no water should be left, which can easily cause rot. At the same time, attention should be paid to the humidity and ventilation of the air, and sufficient light should be provided.

3. Future management

After the cuttings are completed, you need to spray the white jasmine with water three times a day, once in the morning, noon and evening, to keep the leaves moist. When the hot summer season comes, the number of sprayings will increase accordingly. Do a good job of shading to avoid sun burns on the plants. About one month after cuttings, the wounds begin to heal. After 40 days, some cuttings will be completely healed. After 70 days, most branches will form a complete root system.
