How to care for the newly bought double-line arrowroot

How to care for the newly bought double-line arrowroot

1. Lighting

The double-line arrowroot likes sufficient diffuse light, but is afraid of strong light, so never put it under the sun. Too much sunlight will burn its leaves and cause irreversible damage. On the contrary, bright diffuse light is more suitable for its growth.

2. Temperature

The most suitable growth temperature for double-line arrowroot is 20-30℃. It is afraid of heat and cold. In summer, when the temperature exceeds 35℃, it needs shading and cooling. In winter, the temperature should be kept above 15℃ to prevent frostbite of the leaves.

3. Watering

The double-line arrowroot cannot lack water during its growth period, but the soil cannot be kept wet for a long time, otherwise it will easily accumulate water and cause rot of the double-line arrowroot roots. Normally, wait until the soil surface is dry before watering. Reduce watering in winter when the temperature is low and increase the watering intervals.

4. Humidity

If you just bought a double-line arrowroot and keep it indoors, you also need to provide it with a higher air humidity. For example, place a humidifier next to the pot, or, under the premise of good ventilation, spray water on the surface of the plant frequently to increase the humidity, so as to prevent the double-line arrowroot from scorching, curling, and drying leaves.

5. Fertilization

Spring and autumn are the growing seasons for the double-line arrowroot. Apply balanced nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer once every half a month. Before the arrival of low temperatures in late autumn, stop applying nitrogen fertilizer and apply more phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. This can improve the arrowroot's frost resistance and help the plant survive the winter safely. Stop fertilizing after winter.
