Lollipop Rose Grafting Method

Lollipop Rose Grafting Method

1. Stock treatment

When grafting lollipop roses, you can use thornless roses as rootstocks. The buds on the rose branches should be dug out first so that no rose branches will grow later. Don't worry about the wound; it will heal soon. Then use a blade to cut it from the top, and the length should be determined according to the length of the scion.

2. Scion Treatment

Cut off a little bit of one end of the scion to be grafted. Be careful when cutting so as not to damage other buds or your hands. Try to cut it as smoothly as possible and at an angle.

3. Inserting the rootstock

After the scion is processed, just insert it into the incision. Note that it cannot be inserted all the way in, and some space should be left to prevent the connection point from growing into a tumor later. That is to say, leave some blank space for future healing.

4. Wrap the grafting film

After insertion, it is necessary to wrap it with a special grafting film in time. Only one bud point should be left on the outer branch, and the others should be wrapped completely. It should be kept moisturized so that it can survive faster. Special films are generally sold in flower shops. If you don't have any, you can use plastic film. In short, you must wrap and fix it well and keep it moist for successful grafting. Otherwise, the water will be lost quickly, which can easily lead to grafting failure.
