Why do the leaves of gardenia turn burnt?

Why do the leaves of gardenia turn burnt?

1. Improper watering

If you don't control the watering well, too much water will cause the soil in the pot to be too moist for a long time, lacking oxygen, and the roots will not be able to breathe and absorb water normally, which will cause the leaves to burn and begin to fall off. Too little will cause the plant to be unable to absorb water, causing the leaves to become dull and yellow. Therefore, when maintaining it, be more careful and pay attention to controlling the moisture in the potting soil.

2. Too much light

Considering its growth habits, if it is exposed to strong sunlight, the leaves will easily become burnt, especially in summer, the light conditions will become more important. If you don't pay attention, the chance of leaves burning will become very high. It is best to only expose the plant to sunlight in the morning and evening when summer comes. If the sunlight is too strong at noon, provide shade in time.

3. Improper fertilization

If nutrients are not supplied in time when the plant is growing vigorously, the old leaves at the bottom may start to turn yellow and burn, especially when there is a lack of potassium fertilizer. This phenomenon is particularly obvious. Applying raw fertilizer that has not been fermented well can also cause the leaves to become burnt. When applying nutrients, pay attention to the concentration so that it is more suitable for plant growth.
