How long is the growth cycle of mango?

Mango growth cycle

It usually takes about 3 years for mangoes to bear fruit from the beginning. If they are planted from seeds, it will take 8-10 years or even more than 10 years to bear fruit.

Mango is not picky about the soil and can be grown in areas below 600 meters above sea level. It is mostly produced in Yunnan, Guangxi, Guangdong, Fujian, Taiwan and other places in my country.

Mango growth rate

Mangoes grow very fast. Generally, January to March is the period of bud development and flowering, and April to May is the period of rapid fruit growth. This period is short, and it takes about 100-150 days for mangoes to mature from flowering to fruit.

Mango Growth Cycle Management

1. Temperature management

The temperature suitable for mango growth is about 20 degrees Celsius or above, and the low temperature is above 15 degrees Celsius. The temperature of mango in different growth stages is different. When mango is growing branches, the required temperature is 24-29 degrees Celsius, while when it is fruiting and young fruit is growing, the daily temperature required is above 20 degrees Celsius. If the temperature is not reached, pollination will be affected.

2. Fertilization management

The annual dosage of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium and other nutrients for mango trees is: 400 grams of nitrogen per plant, 150 grams of phosphorus pentoxide per plant, 500 grams of potassium oxide per plant, and 100 grams of magnesium per plant. The farming help planting network recommends applying it in 4 times.

First time: Apply after pruning (early August), 0.35 kg urea/plant, 0.4 kg superphosphate/plant, 0.25 kg lime/plant, 25 kg fresh pig manure/plant. Dig a 30 cm deep trench and apply in a ring shape, then water after application.

Second time: When the autumn shoots sprout (early September), 0.43 kg of urea and 0.2 kg of potassium chloride are applied to each plant, and 25 kg of pig manure and 0.25 kg of lime are applied to each plant during the winter solstice (February) in combination with garden cleaning. The method is the same as the first time. In addition, some lime is spread on the tree tray.

The third time: Before the mango tree blooms (early March), apply 0.25 kg of urea and 0.4 kg of superphosphate per plant, and combine with spraying 0.2% boric acid and 0.5% zinc sulfate solution once every 7 days for 3 times.

Fourth time: When the mango fruits are swelling, apply 0.2 kg of superphosphate and 0.4 kg of potassium chloride per plant.
