How to repot a golden diamond

How to repot a golden diamond

1. Time to change pots

Because the growth rate of golden diamond is very fast, the nutrients in the soil are consumed relatively quickly, so it is necessary to change the pot regularly. It is best to change the flower pot and soil for it once in spring every year.

2. Preparation

1. Substrate: It is best to use flower soil with more humus and good drainage, preferably sandy soil. Specifically, you can use peat soil plus a portion of perlite to prepare its nutrient soil.

2. Flower pot: If the plant is large and the original pot does not have enough space, you need to change to a larger pot. If the pot is of moderate size, there is no need to replace it.

3. Repotting Method

1. Take the plant out of the pot, then remove the soil around the roots to expose the roots. Then cut off the outermost layer of old roots and the rotten roots as well. After pruning, straighten the roots, otherwise it will not stretch in the pot and affect its growth. After completing all these tasks, place the wound in a ventilated place to dry.

2. After the pruning wounds have dried, you can put the plant back in the pot. Fill the substrate into the pot, then put the plant in, then fill it with a layer of soil and flatten the soil.

4. Post-maintenance

After potting, maintenance is also very important because it determines whether the plant can adapt to the environment faster. First, water it thoroughly, and it is best to use the "immersion pot method" to water it. After that, the substrate should be kept moist at all times, and water should be added in time when the surface of the soil turns white. Place it in semi-shade at first, and then slowly increase the light after it adapts.
