How to grow primrose

How to grow primrose

1. Breeding environment

1. Soil: Loose and fertile soil is required. The pH requirement is slightly acidic, which is conducive to root development. It can be prepared with leaf mold and garden soil in the ratio of two to one, and some base fertilizer can be mixed in.

2. Light: The plant likes light, but is afraid of strong light. Usually place it in a place with diffuse light, and it can receive more light starting from September. In October, full sunlight can be applied to promote the development of flower buds.

3. Temperature: Usually around 15 degrees is fine. In winter, the temperature should be around 10℃ and not lower than 0℃. Don't exceed 30℃ in summer.

4. Watering: The amount of water should be appropriate and water should not accumulate. In summer, you can spray water once in the morning and evening appropriately. It should be reduced appropriately starting from late autumn. But it cannot stop in winter, as this is its flowering period.

5. Fertilization: Autumn and thereafter is its growth and flowering period, and liquid fertilizer needs to be added once every week to ten days. Nitrogen fertilizer is mainly used in the early stage, and phosphorus fertilizer is added in the later stage.

2. Prevention and control of pests and diseases

"Sudden wilt disease" is easy to occur in seedlings, and dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane can be used for treatment when the disease occurs. Pests also occur from time to time and must be controlled in a timely manner.

3. Regular pruning

In addition to cutting off the messy, diseased, insect-infested and dead branches, the flowering period is more important. If you want to collect seeds, cut off part of the branches during the flowering period. After flowering, the dead flowers should be cut off in time.

4. Change the pot regularly

Generally, it should be changed once a year. If the soil is good, it can be changed once every two years. When replacing the soil after pruning, a small part of the old soil can be retained.
