How to repot Clivia

How to repot Clivia

Why change the pot?

After the beginning of autumn, the weather gradually becomes warmer and the dormancy period of Clivia has ended. Before Clivia enters the growing period, changing the pot and soil is beneficial to its growth!

Promote root growth

When the Clivia grows up, the small pot can no longer meet the needs of root growth. You should change it to a larger pot and use more nutritious soil, and the Clivia will grow better!

Supplement nutrients

The Clivia has been growing in the original pot for a year, and the nutrients in the soil have been basically consumed, so it should be replaced with nutrient soil.

Preparation

Soil preparation

Prepare the following materials: mix leaf mold, pine needles, river sand and charcoal in the ratio of 4:2:3:1. Water the soil thoroughly 3 to 5 days in advance and set it aside for later use. An appropriate amount of basal fertilizer can be added to the soil.

Prepare a basin

According to the size of your Clivia and the density of its roots, choose a larger flowerpot. If there is no change in the Clivia, there is no need to change to a bigger pot. The worst thing to do when growing flowers is to use a big pot for small flowers. Before using, moisten the pot with water.

Water outage

Before repotting and changing the soil, stop watering according to the size of the pot. 7 to 10 days for a small pot and 7 to 15 days for a large pot.

Repotting method
