The easiest way to propagate crape myrtle

The easiest way to propagate crape myrtle

1. Hardwood cuttings

This type of Qinzha uses older branches for cuttings. The time for cuttings is generally chosen from March to April. At this time, the branches have not yet begun to sprout. Choose a relatively long and healthy branch, cut off about 15 cm, and cut the branch into loose and breathable soil. Then water it thoroughly and place it in a warm environment for maintenance until it sprouts and takes root.

2. Softwood Cuttings

This type of cutting is usually carried out from July to August. At this time, its growth is very vigorous, and it is also very simple to choose the branches for cutting. Choose a healthy young branch, trim it to a length of 8 to 10 cm, and keep 2 to 3 leaves on the branch. Cut the young branch into the prepared soil, then water it thoroughly, and place it in a shaded place for maintenance. It will take root in about 20 days.
