When does dragon fruit ripen?

When does dragon fruit ripen?

1. When is it mature?

Dragon fruit is sold in general fruit stores or supermarkets almost all year round. In fact, its fruiting period, that is, its ripening period, is between May and November, so it is freshest when eaten during this six-month period. It takes about 40 days from flowering to maturity for picking, and it can be picked when the green skin turns purple-red.

2. Planting conditions

1. Temperature: Dragon fruit is produced in the southern region. It likes high temperatures and is afraid of low temperatures. The suitable temperature for its growth is between 25 and 35 degrees. If it is lower than 10 degrees, it will stop growing.

2. Soil: It is not particularly demanding on soil and can grow well in mountains, wastelands and arid lands.

3. Water: Dragon fruit is drought-resistant, but requires moist soil during the growing period. If it lacks water for a long time, it will stop growing.

4. Light: Dragon fruit loves light and sunlight very much. It will grow very vigorously with sufficient direct light and the fruits will be larger.
