How to propagate money tree by cuttings

How to propagate money tree by cuttings

1. Cutting time

The leaves of the money tree can be used for cuttings. Although it is called a tree, it is actually a herbaceous plant. Cuttings should be taken when the temperature is stable at above 20 degrees Celsius, which is more conducive to survival.

2. Cut the leaves

When taking cuttings, select the strong leaves grown that year and cut them off. Be careful to keep part of the petiole and do not cut them off completely.

3. Insertion matrix

Insert the cut leaves into the prepared substrate, preferably plain sand or vermiculite.

4. Post-maintenance

After the cuttings are done, place them in a moist, dark environment, and you will be able to detect that they have taken root in about 20 days. After taking root, the leaves will not wilt easily. After 2-3 months, the surviving leaves will grow new buds. At this time, they can be planted in a flowerpot and maintained normally.
