How to grow ginger

How to grow ginger

1. Planting time

Ginger is generally planted from late April to early May, and its growth environment requirements are more stringent than other vegetables.

2. Seed selection

Before planting, remove the rotten, shriveled and moldy ginger pieces. If the ginger piece is too big, you can break it apart with your hands or cut it with a knife. After opening, the wound should be disinfected with lime. In fact, large pieces of ginger can also be planted directly, but the cost will be relatively higher.

3. Germination

If you want it to grow faster and better, you need to germinate it. Soak the ginger pieces in Bordeaux liquid for about 10 minutes, then take them out and put them in a container filled with moist sand and cover it with plastic wrap. It will sprout in about 10 days. If you find it troublesome, you can also use ginger cubes with sprouts directly.

4. Sowing

After processing, sowing is very simple. Press the ginger piece directly into the soil, expose the buds, cover with a thin layer of soil and water it thoroughly.

5. Management

It has strict requirements on water, it cannot be too dry or too wet. Water it about once every 1 cm of sprouting, and water it thoroughly but without any stagnant water.
