Chrysanthemum cultivation methods and precautions

Chrysanthemum cultivation methods and precautions

1. Breeding methods

1. Potting soil: Use a small flowerpot at the beginning, and the cultivating soil should be fertile sandy soil. After it grows for a period of time, it needs to be changed to a larger flowerpot. If you want to prepare the soil yourself, you can just mix leaf mold, sandy soil and cake fertilizer together.

2. Watering: The time and amount of watering are different in each season. Less watering is needed in spring. The water in the soil is lost quickly in summer, so it is best to water it once every morning and evening. In addition, spray more water when the weather is dry. The amount of water must be significantly reduced in autumn and winter, and you can use a watering can to spray water slowly.

3. Fertilizer: In addition to applying base fertilizer during planting, you should also apply fertilizer once every 10 days during the growth period of chrysanthemums. Nitrogen fertilizer can be used. When the plant is forming flower buds, the concentration of fertilizer used can be slightly higher. When its flowers are in bud, you don't need to fertilize them anymore after applying fertilizer once.

4. Weeding: When it grows, weeds are likely to appear in the soil. Once discovered, they must be pulled out immediately, otherwise the fertilizer in the soil will be absorbed by the weeds and the growth of chrysanthemums may be weaker.

2. Precautions

If chrysanthemum is sick, be sure to treat it quickly. The diseases that usually harm it include leaf spot and wilt. Once discovered, the affected parts should be cut off as soon as possible and then burned. At the same time, use Bordeaux mixture or carbendazim to treat it.
