1. Fertilization at different stages

Boxwood has a greater demand for phosphorus during the seedling stage, so more phosphorus fertilizer should be applied. As for how much nitrogen fertilizer should be applied during the growing season, it will stop growing in autumn every year, so some potassium fertilizer should be applied at this time.

2. Fertilization after seedling planting

If it is a newly transplanted boxwood, you need to apply more fertilizer in the early stage to supplement sufficient nutrients, but also be careful not to make the concentration too high to avoid damage to the new roots. During the growth period of seedlings, the frequency and amount of fertilization should be increased, at least once a month. It can be divided into wet application and dry application, and urea can be used.

3. Fertilization method

When fertilizing boxwood, you can use the broadcasting method, directly spreading the fertilizer on the seedling soil, and then turning the soil. Or you can use trench application, which is to dig a trench in the seedling soil, put the fertilizer into the trench, and then cover it with soil. You can also apply it wetly, by spreading the fertilizer on the soil surface, and then watering it once to dissolve the fertilizer in time to avoid fertilizer damage.
