How to grow clematis

How to grow clematis

1. Flower stand selection

If you want the branches to look good, you must first choose a suitable flower stand. The size of the flower stand is proportional to the size of the plant. Use a large stand for large seedlings and a small stand for small seedlings. The height of the large frame is about 1-2 meters and is suitable for seedlings over 2 years old. The small frame is 50-60 cm high and is suitable for seedlings under 1 year old. You can also make your own flower stand by using three bamboo poles.

2. Proper pruning

In order to make the clematis grow better, you need to trim it in advance. Dead and old branches should be cut off, because these branches are brittle and will break when they are coiled, which is not conducive to their growth. In addition, thin out the dense branches to prevent them from affecting ventilation and light transmission.

3. Carry out coiling

When winding branches, you should first wind the main branches and then the side branches. The main branches should be coiled around the outside of the bamboo pole, not on the inside, otherwise it will affect its shape. After coiling, you need to use thread to tie up the branches and bamboo poles. Don't tie them too tightly to avoid damaging the plants. All the branches should not be facing the same direction, but should be staggered with each other, so that the flowers will have a more three-dimensional effect.

4. Subsequent maintenance

After the pot is completed, some fertilizer should be applied to facilitate its growth. If you grow it indoors, you need to turn the pot regularly to ensure that it can receive light from all sides. If it does not get light in a certain direction, it may affect its flowering.
