How often should I water Lithops?

How often should I water Lithops?

1. Spring

Spring is its growing season, and it has a great demand for water at this time. Generally, the water will be consumed in about three days, but you cannot water it at this time. You should wait another three days before watering it. The purpose of doing this is to stimulate its growth and make it grow better.

2. Summer

Lithops is different from other plants. Other plants are in the growing period in summer, but it is in the dormant period in summer. During the dormant period, it does not need extra water. It only needs to be watered once every 20 days to a month. It cannot absorb more water. Just water it until the soil is completely moist but not lumpy. Too much water can cause root rot. Succulent plants are most afraid of root rot, which is difficult to deal with, so try to avoid it.

Autumn

In autumn, it will gradually wake up from its dormant state. In September, it is very fragile and needs to be watered once every four or five days, but not too much, as too much watering will easily cause the roots to rot. Just water it until the soil is slightly moist. After September, it will basically transition to a normal state and can be watered normally. The watering interval is also about once a week.

4. Winter

When watering in winter, follow this principle: water when the soil is dry, and don't water when it is not dry. Before watering, check the condition of the soil and then decide how and how much to water.
