How to grow lotus at home

1. Planting steps

(1) Prepare the soil and expose it to the sun to disinfect it.

(2) Place the sun-dried soil into a container, fill it to about two-thirds of the top, and pour in clean water and stir.

(3) After stirring, add water to about 5 centimeters above the soil.

(4) Bury the lotus root shallowly in the soil and wait quietly for it to grow.

2. Maintenance methods

(1) Water: As we all know, this plant is aquatic and therefore cannot leave water all the time. In the early stage, the water layer can be controlled at about three centimeters. Don't dig too deep or the soil will get too cold. In addition, in summer, water is even more essential in the container. In winter, water can be slightly less, but it still needs to be kept relatively moist.

(2) Fertilizer: Plant growth cannot be separated from nutrients. If the soil contains more nutrients, then there is no need to use fertilizer. If not much, then we can apply some, mainly phosphorus and potassium, supplemented by nitrogen. There are many ways to use it. You can use decomposed cake fertilizer or animal manure. In addition, you need to be careful not to apply too much and mix it evenly with the soil. Also, if the leaves turn yellow or fall off, you can mix urea into the soil, make them into balls, and then place them on the soil layer in the center of the container. You will see the effect in about a week.
