How to grow jasmine well

How to grow jasmine well

1. Lighting

If you want to grow jasmine well, you must give it enough sunlight. Don't grow it in a too dark environment, otherwise it will grow too tall. It is best to keep it in a well-lit place, such as on a south-facing balcony indoors.

2. Water

Jasmine is very afraid of drought, so watering is necessary and there must not be any accumulation of water in the potting soil. If it is in the rainy season, try to avoid it from being exposed to the rain. Once it is exposed to the rain, drain the water in time, otherwise the leaves will turn yellow. The temperature will continue to rise in summer, and the amount of watering needs to be appropriately increased according to the specific situation. Generally, watering is required once in the morning and once in the evening. If you find that the leaves are curling, spray water in time to ensure that it can grow normally.

3. Fertilization

Summer is the peak growth season for jasmine. At this time, you can apply more fertilizer to promote its growth. You can use phosphorus and potassium fertilizers or organic fertilizers. Be careful not to use too much nitrogen fertilizer, otherwise the plant will only grow leaves but no flowers. If you apply too much nitrogen fertilizer, you should also apply more phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, and place the plant in a well-ventilated and well-lit place for maintenance.

4. Pruning

Jasmine grows very fast, especially in summer, so it needs proper pruning. For potted cultivation, keep the bottom 10-15cm and pinch it off when it grows to 10cm. Pruning the branches after the flowers wither can promote the growth of new shoots.
