How to prune gardenia after it blooms

1. Pruning method

After the gardenia flowers fade, there will be many withered branches and dead flowers. When pruning, the main thing is to remove this kind of excess branches and leaves, and secondly to remove the two or three pairs of leaves on the top of the healthy branches. 2. Nourish after cutting

After pruning, spray the gardenia with 1000 times of thiophanate-methyl solution, because the gardenia is weak after pruning and easily infected by bacteria. The purpose of spraying this medicine is to enhance the resistance of gardenia and eliminate bacteria. Gardenias cannot be exposed to the sun immediately after being pruned. It is best to place them in a cool place and wait until the cut scars heal before they can be exposed to sunlight normally. When watering, avoid watering the cut surface and avoid water accumulation in the pot.
